Read the content inside a QR code

A QR code can contain a website address, plain text, contact details, WiFi information or another supported payload. The scanner displays the decoded result so you can inspect and copy it.

Reading the code is separate from visiting its destination.

Check QR links before opening them

Decoding a QR code does not prove that its destination is trustworthy. Check the domain carefully before entering passwords, payment information or personal details.

Uploaded images are sent to the scanner service for decoding. Avoid submitting images containing sensitive information.

Can I scan a QR code from a screenshot?

Yes. Upload the screenshot as a PNG, JPG or WEBP image. Keep the full code and its surrounding clear border visible.

Do I need to install a QR scanner app?

No separate scanner app is needed to use this webpage. Image upload works through your browser; live camera scanning requires a compatible browser and camera permission.

Can I scan a QR code on a laptop?
